Singing with Chris Rowbury

“I believe that anybody can sing, and that singing should be accessible to all. In the singing workshops I run, no experience is needed, all songs are taught by ear, and I avoid all unnecessary musical jargon. Whether you’ve only ever sung in the bath, or already sing in a choir, I will soon have you singing together in glorious harmony!”

Please visit my website where you can book me to run a workshop for you, buy any of my harmony song arrangements and find out where my next singing workshop will be.

Suffolk Singers, founded by Andrew Pierssene in 1991, is an a cappella choir based in Otley, Suffolk. We perform a wide variety of sacred and secular music spanning the centuries, including specially commissioned works.

Our year typically features concerts performed in venues which have included St.Mary’s Church, Woodbridge, St.Bartholomew’s Church, Orford, St.Mary’s Church, Framlingham, and All Saint’s Church, Sutton. The choir also performs an annual lunchtime concert of music for Easter in the exquisite Lady Chapel of Ely Cathedral. In recent years Suffolk Singers have been part of an annual Carol Concert at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds, arranged by the Suffolk Magazine.

Over the years we have organised charitable concerts, and are always happy to sing at fund-raising events, weddings and other social occasions.

The choir considers it important to encourage and support young musicians and we have successfully organised a Young Composer’s Competition for an a capella work.

Please visit our website www.suffolksingers.co.uk for more information about the choir’s activities, hear recordings of us singing, enquire about booking the choir for an event or choir membership.

For each production we try to make as many of our costumes as possible. As you can imagine, over the years we have accumulated quite a number, from individual costumes to complete sets.
