We run speed dating events in locations around East Anglia and in particular on the Ipswich waterfront, at The Quayside Restaurant.
There are two age categories, the under 40s and the over 40s and places are £12.95 per person.
It’s a great, fun way to meet other singles in a safe environment and certainly rivals other ways of dating since you actually get to meet the real person and spend time with them before deciding if this is someone you would like to meet again. iFriends
iFriends is an informal social group for adults based in Suffolk and Essex who want to enjoy life and share great experiences, personal interests and ambitions with other like-minded people. Unlike other similar event or introductory groups, we don’t charge people a monthly fee to join in the fun as we believe friendship should be free! You only have to pay the face value of the events you take part in if there’s a cost involved.
The “i” in our name stands for many positive things but it also refers to the way we communicate with our friends about the events we organise – by text, email, Facebook and Twitter (you can follow us @ifriendssuffolk).
We collectively run the group on a voluntary basis and any member can suggest and organise an activity. Our aim is to have 2 core activities per month, one of which is the Sunday Quiz at Isaacs on the Waterfront. Other events are completely varied, from a spur of the moment trip to the pub or cinema to dinner at one of our lovely local restaurants, although we’re not just confined to sedentary activities!
We also like to indulge our adventurous side and active streak once in a while and whilst the list of things we can do is pretty much endless, this year we have already talked about going for long country walks on a regular basis, sailing, kayaking, geocaching, having fun at the dry ski slope on the A137, playing sport, Go Ape in Thetford Forest, chocolate making and other food and drink experiences, as well as day trips to London and other local places of interest.
So, if you like the sound of our friendly group, would like to meet some new faces and are bored of not living life to the full, then please get in touch. The more the merrier!

In Good Company
In Good Company is a social group for mature single people who may be lonely or bored and would like to make new friends. The average age of members is 55 ish to 70 ish and I say if you still feel 45 then you are welcome! We have a lot of fun…
Each month I issue a newsletter and programme detailing at least six events. These regularly include meals, coffee mornings and walks in Suffolk but have also included events as diverse as touring Buckingham Palace to boat trips and dancing to treasure hunts and almost everything in between! Oh, and of course I shouldn’t forget our weekends in Paris and Amsterdam. For the more adventurous we have had speed-boating, gliding and clay-pigeon shooting. So, just because we are older doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy ourselves.
I am so lucky that all the members are very friendly and cheerful and they always welcome new members as they know how hard it is to take that first step. I suggest people come along as a guest first to see if they feel comfortable with us before deciding to join. We are now in our eighth year and many successful friendships have been formed.

Ipswich Divorced & Separated Social Club
The Ipswich Divorced and Separated Social Club, is the Club no one really wants to join!
None of us wants to end up divorced or separated. Unfortunately it is a fact of life….it does happen, and when it does, you need somewhere to go because it is a time when it is very easy to feel totally isolated.
You are not alone – we are here to help you start up a new social life, to meet new friends who have been in a similar position as you are now, to have someone to talk to on a bad day, and people to laugh with when you are out on that Saturday night.
It does work – just ask the hundreds of people who have passed through the IDSC doors over the years!
