Blues Jam

Starting Wednesday 8th Feb at Spread Eagle, 1 Fore St, Ipswich IP4 1JW

Featuring house band The Magic Dragons a mix of very talented musicians

Fronted by British Blues award winning harmonica player Giles King of Hokie Joint

Starting at 8.00pm every Wednesday this jam is designed to mix young up and coming players with older more experienced players.

All back line will be provided so just bring your instruments and join in.

Constellations Open Mic Night has been running once a month since the summer of 2007 in Ipswich.

Ipswich Jam Nights – Webbys

Every Thursday at The Royal Oak, Felixstowe Road, Ipswich between 8:00pm – 11:00pm.

We have had tour players pop in and are expecting as always some of our American friends to pop in and play when they are on tour!

We start at 8.00pm so that all the younger musicians get a good turn before 9.00pm. 

We have everything from Jazz to Death Metal, Country to Funk – there is no music we will not venture into and have had wash board players having a duel of ‘Tin’. 

  • All musicians welcome! 

Bring your own instruments – Back Line and PA Supplied, Drum Kit etc – Just bring your talent!

Jazz Jam Session

Second Friday of every month at The Golden Hind, 470 Nacton Road, Ipswich IP3 9NF, starting at 7.30pm and running through until about 11.00pm.

PA, drum kit and bass amp are supplied and there is normally a keyboard as well.

The session is open to anyone of any standard who wants to play jazz and there’s no entry fee.

It’s also a good place to meet up with other jazz players and just to come along and listen.

Suffolk Songwriters @ The Steamboat

Open mic nights held at the Steamboat Tavern in Ipswich on the first Thursday of every month. Hosted by Andy Heasman & Stuart Brindle From 8.00pm onwards, arrive early to book a slot (usually 2 songs) – original material only, no covers!

Gigs are recorded and broadcast on Felixstowe Radio 107.5fm every Tuesday Night from 7.00pm – 9.00pm. Website and live stream at http://www.felixstoweradio.org.uk/

The radio show, hosted by Stuart Brindle, also offers performers the opportunity to come and play live in the studio.

The Hearth

Once a month at Colchester Road Baptist Church, Sidegate Lane West Entrance, Ipswich IP4 4ST

A place to relax and enjoy a hot cup of chai, some delicious cake and to indulge in live music, stories, poems or whatever anyone decides to share.

Each month there will be opportunities to share your talents, sing us a song or tell us a tale and to enjoy the offerings of others.

All Welcome

Entry and tasty treats are all free but we ask for a donation to cover costs (all extra profits will be donated to the Zimbabwe Womens Resource Centre (http://www.zwrc.org.uk/) to support their assistance to victims of domestic violence.
