Age UK Suffolk
Established in 1948, Age UK Suffolk is now a local partner of Age UK – the national charity formed through the merger of Age Concern England and Help the Aged. The charity is a member of the Age England Association, a federation of Age UKs.
Age UK Suffolk works with and for senior citizens in Suffolk, campaigns with them and on their behalf and is a provider of direct services and support across the county.
Older people tell us what later life is about: getting involved, enjoying yourself, learning new things and receiving help when you need it. Therefore our mission is to enable older people and their family carers to:
- Manage the challenges that may come with ageing
- Retain choice in, and control over, their lives
- Enjoy later life rather than endure it.
Age UK Suffolk employs over 400 staff and has over 700 volunteers in its services and activities around the county. These 1000+ people work in a variety of very different ways, but each makes a vital contribution. Some work in teams, for example the day centres and offices or outreach activities like ‘Talkabout’ forums. Other work alone for services that require visiting older people at home, such as befrienders, independence or benefits advisers, advocates, home helps or carer support workers.
For more information Tel: 01473 359911, Email: office@ageuksuffolk.org or visit: www.ageuksuffolk.org Our address is: Age UK Suffolk, 14 Hillview Business Park, Old Ipswich Road, Claydon, Ipswich IP6 OAJ

Young Suffolk
Young Suffolk is a registered charity supporting children and young people’s clubs and organisations (from the voluntary and community sector) across Ipswich and Suffolk.
We do this by providing help and support to our members (it costs £30 a year for a club to join us).
We can help in many ways such as by keeping clubs up to date with current legislation and helping them with their policies and procedures (vital for ensuring children and staff are safe).
We can offer FREE training to member organisation’s staff and volunteers and we try to help groups to access funding and get equipment they need and much more.
Our website is at www.youngsuffolk.co.uk To find out more contact Alison Archbold, Communications Manager, Young Suffolk on 01473 474187 or Email: youngsuffolk@suffolkonline.net
